Calgary & Area Labour Market Quarterly & Annual Reports

The Calgary and Area Labour Market Report is compiled quarterly and provides labour market and economic information and analysis, a review of labour market issues and provides valuable information to help Albertans, organizations and employers with their strategic planning.

Each report contains the following information:

  • Economic Overview - information about the local, provincial, national and global economy
  • Trends in the national, provincial and local labour market
  • Community profiles highlighting information about different outlying communities in Calgary each quarter
  • Industry Profiles highlighting findings from surveys with different local employers each quarter

In addition to the economic overview and labour market trends, this report features the following:

  • A profile of the Town of Canmore

  • A survey of employers in Calgary and Area - For each quarter of 2008, a survey is conducted of Calgary and area companies. The purpose of the survey is to gather information from employers on their recruitment and retention practices and various other employment issues they are facing. In the second quarter of 2008, companies with 50 to 99 employees were surveyed and the results are in this report.

    For each quarter of 2008, a survey will be conducted of Calgary and area companies. The purpose of the survey is to gather information from employers on their recruitment and retention practices and various other employment issues they are facing. In the first quarter of 2008, companies with 100 or more employees were surveyed and the results are in this report.
