Approved Training Courses
Alberta Employment and Immigration (E&I) works with approved training agencies across the province to ensure that workers with jobs that may involve delivery of asbestos removal, audiometric testing, working with explosives, first aid services, pulmonary function testing and emergency mine rescue at surface mines receive the health and safety training they need.
Alberta Occupational Health and Safety legislation requires training programs for these activities must be approved by E&I, Workplace Health and Safety. The training program for emergency mine rescue is administered by the Alberta Mine Safety Association.
No other occupational health and training programs offered in Alberta are required to undergo a government approval process.
E&I approved training courses:
- Asbestos Worker Training
- Audiometric Technician Training
- Explosives Safety Training and Blaster's Permit
- First Aid Training
- Pulmonary Function Training
